Space: Above and Beyond was premiered on the 24th of September 1995 and lasted on the 2nd of June 1996. The series was created and written by Glen Morgan and James Wong. It runs for only one (1) season and twenty-four episodes.

The series was set in the year of 2063-2064 and focuses on a group of United States Marine and members of the United States Marine Corps Space Aviator Cavalry, 58th Squadron also known as the Wildcards.

In 2063, an unexpected attacked by an alien race that results to five military rookies was thrown into the frontlines of an intergalactic war. They do have different reasons for enlisting. The team was consist of Nathan West who was trained with his girlfriend but loses his spot to an InVitro and Kylen must leave with the colony thinking that the military offer will be his only chance to reunite with Kylen, Shane Vansen was a fellow pilot with a painful past and befriends West, Cooper Hawkes was an InVitro and was sentenced to serve the military, and other pilots are Vanessa Damphousse and Paul Wang. They were led by their cool and mysterious Commander McQueen.
